Konteks41:54 Then the seven years of famine began, 1 just as Joseph had predicted. There was famine in all the other lands, but throughout the land of Egypt there was food.

[45:6] 2 tn Heb “the famine [has been] in the midst of.”
[45:11] 3 tn The verb כּוּל (kul) in the Pilpel stem means “to nourish, to support, to sustain.” As in 1 Kgs 20:27, it here means “to supply with food.”
[47:13] 4 tn The verb לַהַה (lahah, = לָאָה, la’ah) means “to faint, to languish”; it figuratively describes the land as wasting away, drooping, being worn out.
[105:16] 5 tn Heb “and every staff of food he broke.” The psalmist refers to the famine that occurred in Joseph’s time (see v. 17 and Gen 41:53-57).
